I wanted to let everyone know that you can get Congressman Patrick Murphy's book on Amazon.com via a pre-order. I already ordered mine and I can't wait to get it in the mail. The link is http://www.amazon.com/Taking-Hill-Philly -Baghdad-Congress/dp/0805086951/ref=pd_b bs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1202 313991&sr=8-1
I just got a call from a gentleman from Cingular who let me know that he had just gotten off the phone from a representative of the Attorney General's Office in PA. I contacted the Attorney General's Office a few weeks ago about Cingular blocking conference call numbers. The representative from Cingular apologized to me for blocking the number and wanted to let me know they are no longer blocking these numbers. I thanked him for his call and just restated my disappointment with them and said I hope it would not happen again. He told me there were no immediate plans to block these numbers again.
After I hung up, I tried the conference call number I had and it worked. So go out and try it and see if you are able to do it now. Hopefully they learned their lesson. My guess, they have not and will try it again when all of this blows over.
Patrick Murphy has issued a statement criticizing Andy Warren on his double talk when it comes to the campaign.
Looks like the Murphy06 folks really did their research here. It would be interesting to see someone from the Warren camp try and explain these. The message reads as follows:

Chris Carney To Announce Candidacy September 7th in Montrose
Veteran Seeks to Defeat Don Sherwood in 2006
DIMOCK, Pa. -- Chris Carney, a lieutenant commander in the Naval Reserve and a Pennsylvania State University associate professor of political science, will announce his candidacy for U.S. Congress on September 7, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. on the courthouse green in Montrose, Pa.
"I intend to represent Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District in order to reclaim the middle ground for America," said Carney. "For too many years, we have been subject to an `in your face' political process that emphasizes our differences instead of finding common ground and moving ahead. It is time to bring civility and respect back to our political process and elect leaders with integrity, leaders that represent our interests and values."
During his campaign for Congress, Carney will highlight how he can contribute his leadership and expertise to the national security debate in Congress. In addition to his military experience, he has served as Director of Intelligence Support for the Global War on Terrorism and as Senior Advisor to the Deputy Secretary of Defense.
"We must have leaders in Washington that are able to face our security challenges with experience and strength," Carney said. "I know the dangers we face and have the expertise to fight terrorism effectively. Our homeland was struck on September 11th, and, as your congressman, I vow to secure this nation and fight to prevent another 9/11."
In Congress, Carney will focus on securing America from both foreign and domestic threats. As a father raising 5 children in rural Pennsylvania, Carney understands the pressures facing American families. He will bring our concerns and values to Washington, not bring Washington's values home.
"We need to strengthen Social Security, not privatize it; improve our schools, not just criticize them; and fight for economic prosperity and healthcare for all, not just a privileged few," Carney said. "Healthcare in particular must be a priority. Healthcare costs are strangling small businesses and individuals alike. This is simply unacceptable. We have a moral obligation to find solutions that work for all Americans."
Chris Carney was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and worked his way through college as an EMT. He is an active hunter and fly-fisherman who loves to play football with his kids. Chris has lived in Northeastern Pennsylvania for 13 years with Jennifer, his wife of 18 years, and their five children, ages 5 to 14.

Warren switched parties in June, and cited policy differences with the Republican Party and his failure to be nominated by the Bucks County Republican Committee to replace outgoing Republican Congressman Jim Greenwood. He quietly visited national Democratic leaders in Washington in July.
If Warren does indeed join the race, he becomes the fourth democrat to officially throw his hat into the ring. The democrats who have already announced are Paul Lang, Ginny Schrader and Patrick Murphy. Murphy has quickly emerged as the front runner of the democratic primary with strong grassroots support and fundraising.
